A sampling of Bear Valley Farmer’s Market will also available throughout the day. Little visitors will enjoy a variety of activities include bounce house, arts & crafts, face painting, contests, and a variety of tasty treats.

The Annual Flower Show began while the U.S. was engaged in World War II  as a way to boost morale locally. The show continued in the coming years  as a gift to the community and a way to support local charities through  monetary donations. This year’s Flower Show will feature the following flower and plant  categories: cut flowers, wildflower arrangements, African violets,  miniature arrangements, perennials, annuals, all-white arrangements,  flowering and non-flowering house plants, roses, flower arrangements  with shells, multi-floral mixtures of annuals, perennials and/or  wildflowers, buds-and-bees-themed arrangements, children’s entries and  succulents.

Jefferson Starship was among the most successful arena rock bands of the 1970s and early  '80s, an even greater commercial entity than its predecessor, Jefferson Airplane, the band out of which it evolved. Many Jefferson Airplane fans decried the group's new, more mainstream musical direction, especially after Airplane singers Grace Slick and Marty Balin departed in 1978. But with shifting personnel, Jefferson Starship managed to please its new fans and some old ones over a period of a  decade before it shifted gears into even more overtly pop territory and  changed names again to become simply Starship.

The 7th Annual Kodiak 100 Ultra Marathon

The 7th annual Kodiak Ultra Marathons will take place August 16-17, 2019 in beautiful Big Bear Lake, California. Big Bear Lake sits at 7,000 ft in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. The 100 mile distance will start and finish in the Big Bear Village and will circumnavigate the entire Big Bear Valley. The Kodiak also offers a 50-mile distance and a 50k, which will be run along the same track as the 100-mile race.

The show features classic wooden boats, Chris-Craft models and other  antique vessels. The event is sponsored by the Antique &  Classic Boat Society, Southern California Chapter, and Nottingham's  Tavern. Boats will be on display at the Pine Knot Landing Docks from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday the 17th. Admission is FREE, and most of the boat owners and skippers will be there to talk about the history of their boats.
